DIY Light Box

I wanted to set up a small light box in my house so I can take photos whenever I want, regardless the time (afternoon or midnight) and the weather. The natural light creates beautiful photos, but working full time during the weekdays unable me to take photos unless it is weekend (and that depends on the weather too!).

Then I found this DIY light box HERE. The setup is pretty easy and doesn't cost me too much. Most of the materials you can found at bookstores or supermarket.
In the progress of reshooting Whimsy Whimsical stickers for consistency.
Testing on the washi tapes I've just bought.
Love the effect :)

Craft : Embroidery Project

Lately I've given myself a simple project, just a break from my daily routine. The method is simple: embroidery on paper (now you know how much I'm into it since my last post on Father's Day card, haha). And I was thinking about triangle garlands with autumn colors :)

The paper that I'm going to use in the project must be sturdy and not easy to break. So I picked a watercolor paper with 300gsm thickness. The paper is off white with a nice texture. First I need to make the holes on the paper with a needle so that the embroidery process will be easier later. I clipped a graph paper at the back as a guide for my triangle garland patterns.
Poking the needle through the sturdy paper on a pillow will make things easier. A thimble helps a lot too!
The colors that I've picked are: tangerine, brown, maroon, dark grey, mint and saffron. I wanted to do it randomly so I started with one color then slowly blended in with the rest of colors.
I'm still working on it :)

Little Red Market II

The 3rd Little Red Market was held at Publika last Sunday, 13 May and that's the second market that I've joined. The crowd was awesome and at some point the market was fully packed with people! It was a sunny Sunday and I'm really glad I got to know more friendly vendors too!

Here are some photos taken on that day :D
Inkypots's beautiful pottery and intricate illustrations :)
Beautiful handmade products from Mossery and Pupurin.
Talented caricature artist of the day!
Fresh baked goods and music (the young guitarist was there last time too)
Some of the kids were more interested in my display toy, hehe.

Mac and Ninny Bookplates

Once in a while I will purchase something for myself as a reward for the hardwork I've done: art prints, stationery, accessories etc... A motivation to keep up the effort :D

Last month I had purchased these beautiful bookplates from Mac and Ninny (sorry for the late posting!). I'd fallen in love with their designs and spent days trying to finalizing on the two designs that I really like: Magnolia and Milk Jug (they are so preeetttyyy!).

They don't have online shop yet but they are very friendly to ship to my country when I contacted them.
The packaging is superb and I LOVE every look and feel of it. I guess I was too anxious to open them end up a big tear at the sticker. Aiks...
So pretty! :) Now I just have to decide which books I should use them...
